Anand Pawar is the Executive Director of SAMYAK, an NGO based in Pune, India. He is a male gender trainer and activist involved with women’s and men’s groups working towards gender equality and violence-free society. He is also an active member of Forum to Engage Men (FEM), South Asian Network to Address Masculinities (SANAM) and he is associated with Women’s Peace Maker Programme (WPP), Netherlands. He teaches courses on gender, patriarchy and masculinities with departments of women studies, gender studies, sociology and social work across various universities and institutes in India. He also teaches a course on ‘Men, Masculinities and SRHR’ with James P Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University, Bangladesh. He assisted the famous television show “Satyameva Jayate” on Indian television by giving training inputs to Aamir Khan Productions on violence against women and masculinities.
