HIND MEDICAL COLLEGE AND KGMU EMERGE VICTORIOUS AT THE DARING DEBATES 2017 IN LUCKNOW
Top debaters from various medical colleges from the city of nawabs, battled it out for top honours at the Daring Debates 2017. At the end of a close contest, Ankit Kasera from Hind Medical College and Shreya Mattoo of King George Medical University emerged victorious by winning the Lucknow edition of the Daring Debates 2017 that was held at the SAS Conference Hall at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University today.
The topic of the debate “Medical Oath: A moral compass no more” triggered off a lot of interesting arguments and counter arguments as contestants from each team put forward their views, with one contestant speaking for the motion and the other against the motion.
The Daring Debates in Lucknow was held in partnership with the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University’s Media Centre as students and other guests cheered on the contestants in the packed SAS Conference Hall. The verdict was announced by an eminent panel of three jury members who judged these debates and it included Prof Shubhini Saraf– HOD Pharmaceuticals and Dean School for Biosciences and Biotechnology BBAU, Dr Suryakant Tripathi HOD Pulmonary Medicine KGMU- President Indian Chest Society and Dr P K Gupta– President Indian Medical Association Lucknow.
The winning team won attractive prizes for their commendable performance and the biggest achievement is that they will join four other regional winners who will contest the Daring Debates grand finale on February 12th, 2017, a part of the Difficult Dialogues summit, to be held in Goa from February 10th to 12th, 2017.
