Dr. Delan Devakumar is a child health specialist from the UK. He trained in paediatrics and public health and is currently a clinical lecturer at UCL’s Institute for Global Health. Dr. Devakumar has worked in South Asia for a number of years, originally performing clinical humanitarian work and later carrying out maternal and child health research. His Ph.D. research investigated the long-term effects of micronutrient supplementation in pregnancy. He has also conducted public engagement projects in Nepal, investigating the health effects of indoor air pollution caused by the burning of biomass fuels and studying the issue of child marriage.
